Team Spotlight: Meet Arthur J. Margulies, JD, CADC-II
Art has been a vital part of The Pointe Malibu for the past seven years. His presence is steady, engaged, and deeply woven into the day-to-day experience of the program. Clients know him as someone they can count on. Our team knows him as someone who shows up, follows through, and holds the line in a way that supports both structure and care. He is truly part of the heart and backbone of TPM.
Art serves as a Substance Use Counselor and Case Manager, bringing a thoughtful, grounded, and client-centered approach to his work.
His professional path reflects both depth and intention. He earned his undergraduate degree in Sociology and Economics from Rollins College, followed by his Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, graduating cum laude. After practicing as a commercial litigator in New York City, Art made a shift toward more purpose-driven work, ultimately earning his Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling with distinction from UCLA, and his CADC-II from the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals.
Arthur J. Margulies, JD, CADC-II
Art facilitates addiction recovery groups, helping clients build insight, strengthen motivation, and develop a recovery path that is both structured and sustainable.
As a Case Manager, he supports clients in creating practical, individualized continuing care plans, focused on routine, accountability, and access to the right resources for long-term recovery.
Art brings a strong sense of consistency and reliability into the treatment environment. He models routine and follow-through in a way that creates safety, clients know what to expect, and that predictability becomes a foundation they can build from. Through the “5 Pointes” framework; breath, mindfulness, movement, thought management, and play, he helps clients develop accessible tools for awareness and regulation, often grounding the work in breath and mindfulness as starting points. His approach is further demonstrated in his integration of skills designed to support a recovery-oriented lifestyle and strengthen relapse prevention.
In addition to his steady presence, Art brings a grounded sense of curiosity, engagement, and play into the recovery process.
His interest in travel, scuba diving and motorcycle riding reflects a spirit of exploration and balance, modeling how play and enjoyment can be meaningful parts of a sustainable recovery. In alignment with our Five Pointes, particularly the role of play, he reinforces that healing creates space not only for stability, but for renewed energy, connection, and a fuller experience of life.
Art’s impact is felt in the consistency, clarity, and care he brings into each interaction. He helps create an environment where clients can engage, feel supported, and begin to build something lasting in their recovery. We are grateful for his continued dedication and the role he plays in strengthening the culture of The Pointe Malibu.
Our commitment to providing a consistent, high-level of care is shared by our entire team. In addition to the work we do on-site, our staff continues to lead vital conversations within the global recovery community.
To that end, we are proud to support our very own Lee FitzGerald as she hosts her landmark event this fall:
Save the Date: 16th Annual London Workshop
