As November comes to a close…
Our team at The Pointe Malibu is reflecting on the practices that anchor healing— gratitude, returning to the self, and the support we receive from the natural environment around us.
The ocean, the cliffs, and the open sky continue to remind us that regulation often begins with simply noticing what helps us feel more present, safe, and connected. These moments create the opening for clients, and for all of us, to soften into healing and explore a deeper sense of belonging.
In our work, gratitude often appears organically, reflected in the small but meaningful steps clients take as they move toward healing.
Even the smallest acknowledgments—a clearer breath, a moment of ease, a shift in perspective—can help orient the nervous system toward safety and reinforce a sense of possibility. Throughout this month, our team has been continuing practices that help clients strengthen their connection to themselves, their values, and the experiences that support regulation and renewed engagement with life.
We also want to recognize our ongoing collaboration with Joanna Cardenas;
Prevention Specialist and Yoga Instructor, who has partnered with us since August as a consultant supporting health and wellbeing.
Our early work with Joanna centered on development and relationship-building, and in November she facilitated Indigenous Cultural Training for our staff. Joanna offered education through story, values, and lived experience, creating space for reflection and humility. Her presence reminded us that we are always learning and that the most respectful approach includes acknowledging what we do not yet know.
We look forward to continuing this relationship as she supports us in deepening dialogue and strengthening cultural attunement in meaningful, conscientious ways.
These moments of learning tie closely to our polyvagal-informed framework.
Where safety, visibility, and connection guide every aspect of care. As we move through November, we invite our community to notice what brings a sense of settling, support, or ease to the nervous system. Whether it’s time in nature, a practice that helps you return to yourself, or a meaningful interaction that offers co-regulation, each contributes to healing in its own way.
Thank you for being part of The Pointe Malibu community. We are grateful for the trust placed in our team and for the continued opportunity to support transformation with care, intention, and respect.
